Phase 1: The Cryo GenSet pilot demonstrator

Above: Highview’s Cryo GenSet operational at Slough Heat and Power. The cold exhausted air causes water to condense as it returns to the atmosphere while the system runs. No emissions.

Below: Inside the Cryo GenSet.

Performance
We have tested different operating cycles/regimes (i.e. STOR), before moving to integration with the liquefaction.
Tests have indicated that Highview’s plant can meet National Grid’s Short Term Operating Reserve and potentially Fast Reserve requirements thereby allowing future larger units to bid for contracts with National Grid.
The costs and performance of the pilot plant give confidence as to the likely cost and performance of the commercial scale Cryo GenSet units.
