Cryo Genset™
Using the storage tank and the power recovery unit (with tanker delivery), Highview’s technology can be utilised as disaggregated peaking plants/back-up/security of supply/time of use management. (Zero-emission alternative to diesel gensets).
“Plant Vanilla” Energy Storage
The technology compares favourably with utility scale batteries, pumped hydro and CAES with respect to location, target capital cost, efficiency, power output, duration, energy density.
Waste Heat to Power
Energy Storage plus conversion of waste heat to power, including low grade heat (sub 100°C).
Combined Cooling & Power (CCP)
Energy storage plus conversion of waste heat, plus integrated cooling (which can displace traditional energy intensive air conditioning, refrigeration).
Highview’s system can be deployed at any point on the electricity system, including on-site for significant users (e.g. industrials, mining, retail, data-centres). It is not location-dependent.
The power rating, rate of recharge and storage capacity are independent of each other. Power rating can be up to hundreds of MW; power storage capacity a multiple thereof.
The optimum application for any given electricity market will depend on that market’s characteristics (prices, regulation, time of use charges, carbon credits, etc).
